Course Curriculum

 

 

The C.P.F.T.A. Program is a four year program that includes a two-year high school, and a two-year college component.

Years one and two will be implemented at the Chicago Police Education & Training Academy and the Robert J Quinn Fire Academy as an after-school program. The program will be conducted mondays, tuesdays, and wednesdays from 4 to 6 following the CPS School Calendar.

The program meets the two year career education graduation requirement. The curriculum emphasizes academics, physical fitness (the Power Program), and basic knowledge and skills pertaining to careers in public safety.

Instructional personnel will be selected by CPS, CPD, CCC, including police officers and firefighters teaching on a part-time basis.
